TaylorMades first ever metal wood was called the Pittsburgh Persimmon, offering a nod to the Steel City and host of this years tournament. Much of the Heritage Staff Bags inspiration was derived from this iconic club, and is reflected in a steel-grey base colour, vintage TaylorMade logos, direct references to the club, and TaylorMades founding year of 1979.
While the Heritage Staff Bag stands out from afar, there are some subtler details that are not to be overlooked. Pittsburgh Persimmon is scripted into the topside valuables pocket and the carry strap where it reminds us of TaylorMades first metal wood. Original One, another moniker for the first metal wood, is bordered by the year 1979 marking TaylorMades founding year on the lower of the two backside valuables pockets.
On the Staff Bags bottom collar, the years 1927, 1935, 1953, 1962, 1973, 1983, 1994, 2007, 2016 and 2025 mark each year the host venue has staged the Summer Commemorative. Stitching on the handle honours the host venues church pew-lined bunkers.
